Stud Install
1. Remove Cylinder and Head
2. Block off inside of engine and tape top of engine to be sure no shaving get in the engine.
3. Be sure to use a shop vac while you are drilling and tapping as an added porecaution against getting shavings in the engine.
4. Drill case holes with a 5/16 inch drill bit.
5. Tap holes to 3/8 course thread.
6. Drill cylinder and head to 3/8 inch.
7. Drill right front cylinder and head holes to 25/64 inch to ensure proper oilo flow to top end.
8. Verify that no shaving got into the bottom end - if they did - split the caes and clean out the bottom end.
9. Install new studs in cylinder using red locktight.
10. Install cylinder and head using all factory torque specs.
Chain Adjustment
Compress rear end till you have 11.5 inches from the top of the center section of the sprocket hub to the center of the rear grab bar bolt - now make sure the chain is tight right at this point and gets looser as soon as you go up or down from there.
