Round #1 was held at The Westgate River Ranch in the sands of Florida.
Youth racer Charlie Welch kicked off the opening round with a win in the
70 CVT (6-11) class utilizing HLS suspension. In addition, Women’s A
rider Jennifer Albright put her HLS shocks to work and placed second
overall “It is important to have good suspension, especially when
competing in Florida where the tracks deteriorate so quickly. GT
Thunder’s HLS suspension definitely played a big role in my finish here
at Round #1”.
Georgia had a mix of mud and fast sections for riders; Zachary Strong took
his second win of 2009 while youth competitor Blake Chirdon grabbed his
first win of the season. In the afternoon race XC2 Pro Am rider Brian Wolf
dominated the class leading the race from the green flag to the checkered
earning his first win of the season. All in all over the first two rounds
HLS riders earned seven wins along with seven second place finishes with
multiple podium appearances in the youth and morning events. “This is a
great start to the season for many of these competitors” says Laz
Sommers “I look for great things to come for both the riders and HLS
suspension”. To learn more about GT Thunder, HLS suspension, and various
